Embrace hope and the energy of transformation with our premier book box inspired by the 17th card of the tarot’s Major Arcana, The Star—which represents creativity, renewal, and bright new beginnings. The three books selected by Paulette for this box feature themes of feminine agency, sovereignty, and resilience, the glamorous lights of Hollywood, and the mystical allure of Spiritualism and the metaphysical, complimented by a selection of artisanal items designed to reflect The Star’s symbolic meaning.
Each quarterly box will include:

Gothic Dreams is a quarterly subscription box service featuring a selection of new and backlist titles from bestselling indie and traditionally-published authors of gothic horror and suspense. Each quarter, readers will receive 3 carefully selected books curated according to the quarterly theme, along with 1-3 artisanal items created by independent makers.

A backlist title is a book that has been in print for at least a year, but perhaps flew under the radar when it was first released. New releases get a lot of attention, but there are hidden gems in an author’s backlist as well! As an avid reader of gothic fiction, Paulette will select books of merit each quarter that will appeal to subscribers.

No, but when each quarterly box is announced, there will be a tarot-inspired theme, and enticing descriptions of each book to help build anticipation. Each box is curated according to the quarterly theme, which is decided in advance.

You will receive your book box within the first two weeks of the quarter.

While Gothic Dreams is getting established, we are limiting available boxes to 25 boxes per quarter. This helps ensure exclusivity and availability of the artisanal products we include in our boxes. Once those 25 boxes sell out, more will not be stocked for the quarter. We will scale up as demand increases. A lot depends on how our initial 2026 boxes sell! After the next quarterly box/theme is announced, any remaining boxes in our inventory from the last quarter will be placed on our “past boxes” page to purchase at a discount.

Gothic Dreams does not offer refunds on our subscription boxes. All sales are final. However, if you receive a damaged box, please photograph your damaged shipment and send us a photo and description of the damage to admin@gothicdreamsbookbox.com and we will send a replacement box your way.

Unfortunately, due to the high cost of international shipping, Gothic Dreams is only available to subscribers in the United States and its territories. We hope to be able to serve international readers in the future!

A month before it ships! For example, the theme of our first box will be announced on February 6th, 2026, and will ship during the first two weeks of March. You will have the option to pre-order the box when it’s announced–and you can pay in advance at that time.
